What has happened to the auctions?!

Many of you may be wondering why the auctions haven't continued in March. The Nielson Family had asked that all 'donate to Nie' buttons be changed to 'i read Nie' buttons starting February 14th. I decided to continue the auctions through February and ask those in charge of fundraising if it was okay if I continued the Thursday's for Nie blog/auctions. I have yet to hear back from them, but do not want to step on any toes. I want to respect any request the family may have. So, until I hear from them I will be halting the auctions. Sorry I didn't communicate this earlier. Check back and I'll let you know my plans. Thanks!

MY word for the year is FOCUS. I wrote about it HERE at my personal blog. I then made myself a charm to remind me and wrote about that experience on my personal blog too...HERE. Anyway, I love these little sterling silver charms. SO... the first auction of 2009 (not until Thursday Feb 5th) will be what you see. I will be auctioning off an 18" sterling silver ball chain necklace with 3 charms that say whatever you want. I am showing the one above that has my words for the year, but you can put children's names, dates, WHATEVER! I hope you guys are ready to get bidding again. Bidding is now open for this fun beaded necklace. It may be hard to tell from the picture, but it is mainly choral colored beads between antiqued metal floral beads. I love how each of the choral beads have a little different color and pattern. There is a sterling silver chain on the end to adjust the length. I'm so sorry to be slow again this week, and I didn't even give you a preview!! So, here is the item and we are open for bidding!!! You are bidding on a simply perfect initial necklace. This is a picture of my daughter Ella's necklace that I made for her a year or so ago. I have made several since for gifts and I think it is a great all round look. Many of Ella's cousins have them too and they all feel like they are in some sort of club! These are great for adults too, I just took a picture of Ella's for this post. They are made completely of sterling silver with a cute little crystal accent. The winner will just let me know what initial they want and if it's for an adult or a child. Good luck to you all!!

FABULOUS!!! I am so excited how this turned out. I was lamenting the fact that I didn't have enough red beads to make another Nie necklace when an idea sparked. This is what I came up with. I sure am hoping I can get some more because I want to make one of these for Nie and anyone else who wants one. I hope you like it too because it's up for auction tomorrow.

A quick change in the rules.
I am changing the closing time of the auction. It will now close at 10:00pm EST. That's Eastern Standard Time. I realize that there may be friends that want to bid, but don't want to wait until 1:00am to win. So, from now on I will be closing the auctions at that time. It works out great for me this week since I will be in the Eastern Time zone. I will actually be in the middle of watching Wicked on Broadway (I know...I'd be jealous too) with a bunch of my high school girlfriends. So, if I'm a tad late on closing the comments I'd ask that we all be civil and show integrity. If it's past 10:00pm EST then please don't bid. I'm not sure what I would do. Thanks again for supporting this effort. I've been having so much fun with it. I LOVE giving things away.

Sorry I didn't do a preview post. It's been a crazy week. I really don't want to bore you with this necklace again, but I have had so many people email me and request it. So, here's your chance. I was at the bead store today and I don't think I'll be able to get these great red beads again. I'll try my best, but this may be the last chance for this one. I will also try to find similar beads in case I have more interest. Good luck and bid high!!

Sorry I'm so late starting the auction today. I have a couple of sick kids, the house is a wreck, and I woke up realizing it was picture day for my two oldest!! So, after some haircuts, baths, breakfast, lunches made, and dropping the kids off to school, I am ready!!! ARE YOU?!! I was happy to see that many of you liked this necklace. It's made of turquoise colored stones (not the real thing...that would be spendy) and a fun yellow floral bead in the center. The yellow bead is flanked by two decorative sterling silver balls. Fun, youthful, colorful...and very much something I could see Nie wearing!! Have fun bidding, and I'll have fun making it for the winner!!

This necklace was inspired by one my sister in law wore at a dinner I had with her a couple of months ago. I instantly thought of Nie and I loved the idea of the focal point being off center. Great necklace to dress up or down. 18" with a sterling silver lobster clasp. I apologize for the pictures. My 8 year old took them of me when it was dark out so I had to use my flash.

First auction on the new blog!!

Here is the first auction item on the new blog! It is similar to one of my previous auctions on the original Nie Nie Day. There was a lot of interest, so I hope it will be a popular one again. It is for a set of three scrabble tile pendants. In the picture I show one with the initial "N" for Nie, but the winner of the auction can tell me which initial they would like me to send them. These are really fun and versatile pendants. They come with an 18" sterling silver ball chain. Rules for the auctions can be found on my sidebar! Good luck!

When can i bid?
As soon as the post appears.

Where do i place my bid?
in the comments section of each item's post. Leave the first comment with the starting bid such as "i start the bid at $20". then the next bidder can submit a comment with their bid like, "I bid $30." and with each bidder to follow they just leave a comment with their price. If you are not familiar with how to leave a comment, just click the word "comments" that you see at the end of the post. It will bring up a pop-up window where you can type your comment. If you don't have a google/blogger account DON'T WORRY! Just click the circle next to the "anonymous" option and leave your bid/comment and your name and email. It's as easy as that!

What amount can i bid?
please keep all bids to an even $1--no change please. example: if the bid is $65.00, then the next bid should be $66.00 not $65.50.

How do i know what the highest bid is?
check the comments. it will be the most recently posted comment.

When does the auction end?
10:00 PM EST every Thursday.

What if i win the bid?
If you are the winning bidder, just email your contact information to crazygoodlife@gmail.com. I will also do my best to contact you if you have a blog that is accessible.

How can i pay for the item?
I will have you make a donation to the Nielson Recovery fund directly (cute blue button on the right side of my blog). Once you receive confirmation of payment from Paypal, you will forward me that email. I will then ship the item(s) to you!

Will all of the money go to the fund or just a portion?
ALL OF IT, I will be paying the shipping myself.
